NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream in Cannes vs Zurich I actually forgot that I had Zurich in my collection, but I’m definitely going to start wearing it all summer long as it’s a great low maintenance lipstick I can apply on the go. The lighter intensity and colour definitely lends itself more to every day wear though. It’s an ideal budget nude lipstick for people with fair skin. It’s definitely on the pink scale, but I’d say it was more of a peachy pink. On the NYX website, Zurich is advertised as a matte, muted rose.

I find the formula comfortable to wear, and it does not exaggerate any fine lips or cracks in the lips.Ĭannes is quite a rosy pink colour on me, but on someone with a deeper skin tone, I could imagine it being the perfect “my lips but better” shade. From the swatch I can see why they might have said mauve, but on the lips it is more of a mid-toned rosy brown with a reddish undertone.Įach Soft Matte Lip Cream requires two coats or more to become fully opaque, but I found Cannes to be the more pigmented of the two. I’d generally disagree with that, although I guess it depends on the undertone of your skin and natural lip colour. NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream in Cannes is described by NYX as a matte muted mauve. Both Soft Matte Lip Creams fade evenly throughout the day and last for around 4-5 hours on the lips before they need to be reapplied. Upon application they have a slight vanilla scent, but it’s nothing overpowering and disappears almost as soon as they dry down. I have found that from the NYX Lip Creams I have bought so far, they have buildable coverage, and it is best to reapply during the period between application and dry down as they remain creamy and blendable for about five minutes.
